Put a free commercial solar calculator on your website
Your visitors type in a building address. They get an instant estimate of system size, annual saving, payback and 25-year value, modelled from official building and energy data.
It is free, there is no account, and there is nothing to maintain. It takes about two minutes to add.
- No sign-up for your visitors, the estimate shows in full
- Sizes itself to your page, and works on phones
- Nothing to update: the data refreshes at our end
1. Copy this
You do not need to understand it. Copy the whole thing exactly as it is.
<!-- Commercial solar savings calculator by Sunseam -->
<div style="max-width:700px;margin:0 auto">
<iframe id="sunseam-calculator"
src="https://sunseam.co.uk/widget/savings"
title="Commercial solar savings calculator"
width="100%" height="620" loading="lazy"
style="border:0;width:100%;display:block"></iframe>
<p style="margin:10px 0 0;font:14px/1.5 system-ui,sans-serif;color:#555">
Roof data and savings modelling by
<a href="https://sunseam.co.uk/savings">Sunseam commercial solar roof intelligence</a>.
</p>
</div>
<script>
window.addEventListener("message", function (e) {
if (e.origin !== "https://sunseam.co.uk") return;
var h = e.data && e.data.sunseamHeight;
var f = document.getElementById("sunseam-calculator");
if (h && f) f.style.height = h + "px";
});
</script>2. Paste it into your page
Put it anywhere you would paste a YouTube video. Most website builders have a block for exactly this:
WordPress. Edit the page, add a block, choose Custom HTML, and paste it in. If you use the older editor, switch from Visual to Text first.
Squarespace. Edit the page, add a block, choose Code, and paste it in. Leave the type set to HTML.
Wix. Add, then Embed Code, then Embed HTML, and paste it into the box.
If your builder asks for a web address instead of code, use https://sunseam.co.uk/widget/savings and set the height to about 900 pixels.
3. That is it
Save the page and the calculator is live. Nothing else to set up.
Your visitors stay yours
Inside the embedded calculator we do not offer to match your visitor with an installer. You are the installer. The estimate finishes on your page and the next step is yours: your phone number, your contact form, your process. We do not pass the enquiry to anyone.
One thing we do ask for, so you know before you paste it: a visitor who wants a copy can enter their email address and we send them their business case. That is theirs and ours, with an explicit consent tick and our privacy policy. It does not notify any installer, including us. If that does not suit your site, tell us at hello@sunseam.co.uk before you install it.
Please keep the credit line
The small line underneath the calculator, “Roof data and savings modelling by Sunseam”, is how people find us. It is an ordinary text link, and it is the whole price of the calculator. Everything else is yours to arrange as you like.
Stuck, or want it to look different on your site? Email hello@sunseam.co.uk and we will help.
This is what your visitors will see
The live calculator, exactly as it appears once embedded.
Questions
Is the calculator really free?
Yes. There is no account, no fee and nothing to maintain. We ask that you keep the small credit line underneath it, which is how people find us and is the only thing we ask in return.
Will it slow my site down?
No. The calculator loads in a frame, only when a visitor scrolls to it, so your own page loads at its normal speed.
Do my visitors have to sign up to see their number?
No. The estimate appears in full with no sign-up, no email and no paywall.
Does Sunseam take the leads from my embedded calculator?
No. Inside the embedded calculator we do not offer to match your visitor with an installer, and we do not pass the enquiry to anyone. The estimate finishes on your page and the next step is yours. A visitor can choose to have their business case emailed to them, with an explicit consent tick, and that does not notify any installer.
Where do the figures come from?
The official Energy Performance of Buildings register and Ordnance Survey roof data, modelled with published assumptions. Every figure is labelled an estimate.
